Briar Moss was used to being on the road. The last several years of his life had been spent traveling from Summersea to the distant lands of the east, to his birthplace of Sotat, to the stone country of Gyongxe, and further still to distant Yanjing. When he finally thought that his adventures were over and he could settle down for a while the Duke of Emelan asked them to assist Sandry to Namorn. He was beginning to think that he shouldn't get excited at the prospect of going home, every time Briar did he'd find himself stuck somewhere else.
The past several weeks Briar reminded himself more of his sister, Tris, than he would have liked to admit. He was planning to start traveling and learning about the land. That meant hours spent reading about the types of plants, agriculture, people, and history of the Drabwurld he would come across. Longer still listening to what he could of passing imps and others. Then some more time spent prepping his shakkan for travel and creating new seed bombs. When he took a break it was only to work on medicine and sell them for what little coin he could. Briar was nothing if not prepared for any journey to come and he certainly expected to go on one soon enough.
He was only partly surprised to find that his travel plans were chosen for him. Briar knew that royalty of any sort only bothered with you if they wanted anything. There was hardly any denying them, too, unless you wanted an enemy when you had no allies. He didn't expect to be approached by the Unseelie Queen herself.
